آنکھیں تک نچوڈ کر پی گئے

تیرے غم کتنے پیاسے تھے

Squeezed to the eyes and drank

How thirsty were your sorrows

تیرے بخشے ہوۓ اک غم کا کرشمہ ہے کہ اب

جو بھی غم ہو مرے معیار سے کم ہوتا ہے

There is a miracle of sorrow that you have given now

Whatever the grief is, it is less than the standard

بڑھ بڑھ کر چومتی رہیں خوشیاں تیرے قدم

بھولے سے بھی نہ آئے تیری زندگی میں غم

Keep kissing your feet more and more

Don't let grief come into your life by mistake

وہ اتنا ڈھیر حسین تھا کہ ہم پہ واجب ہے

تمام عمر بچھڑنے کا غم کیا جائے

He was so beautiful that it is obligatory on us

Grieve for the loss of all ages

اس طرح ہم اپنا غم چھپاتے ہیں 

دل روتا ہے اور ہم مسکراتے ہیں

تم ہنسو تو دن نکلے چپ رہو تو راتیں ہیں 

کس کا غم کہاں کا غم سب فضول باتیں ہیں

If you laugh, go out during the day, be silent, it is night

لوگوں سے ملتا تھا غم میں سہہ نہ سکا 

اکیلا رہنا چاہتا تھا مگر رہ بھی نہ سکا
